With new the new standards being released, the need for an explainer document became apparent. The RHA hosted a day to produce this and invited suppliers with compliant kit as well as RHA members to their head office for the day.
The event included guest speakers included the RHA representatives and Steve Summerskill of Loughborough University as well as an informative an active question and answer session.
Suppliers who have passed the testing process, like ourselves, were invited to attend the day so members and hauliers were able to see the systems operating while discussing the benefits of each system with suppliers.
Using some visual representation of the required detection zones, we demonstrated how our externally tried and tested solution met the MOIS and BSIS as part of the new and update Progressive Safe System. Our full solution is already fitted to some of the RHA members fleets in attendance which gave them great opportunity to explore more of what we can offer
The RHA have created a very informative document for understanding the new standard legislation. This was discussed by the RHA representatives and available for all to have copies of. Stripping down the compliance to what you need, why and how – the explainer document helps hauliers to make an informed decision on the legislation requirements.
Transport for London have offered a Grace Period for installations that are booked after 28th October 2024 and before 31st January 2025. The RHA and members felt this was a tight turnaround so the RHA have successfully worked with Transport for London to have this extended.
The Grace Period is now valid from 28th October 2024 until 4th May 2025.
There are a few parts to note but the opportunity is not to be missed.
